She earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and her Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston. With a career spanning decades, Melissa brings a wealth of experience to her work. She has provided individual and group therapy to clients of all ages navigating a broad range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, and grief and loss. She has a particular passion for working with medically fragile children and their families, collaborating closely with medical teams and caregivers to provide integrated, compassionate support. Melissa specializes in medical trauma, recognizing the unique and often overlooked emotional impact that illness, injury, and medical experiences can have on children, adults and their families. Before opening her private practice in 2014, Melissa served as the Bereavement Program Director for a multi-state healthcare organization, overseeing bereavement services across 44 hospice locations and providing counseling to pediatric patients and families in need of additional support. As a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor, Melissa also has a heart for supporting fellow therapists. She enjoys working with other clinicians through supervision and consultation, walking alongside them in their professional growth and helping them navigate the challenges of this meaningful work. Melissa believes that counseling can be a meaningful gift at any stage of life, particularly during its most challenging seasons. After completing his undergraduate degree at Texas Lutheran University he obtained a Masters of Education in Special Education from the University of St. Thomas, and is now completing the Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling at Lamar University. For the last two decades, Ben has worked in public schools with elementary, middle, and high school students. Most recently, as an Educational Diagnostician, he evaluated and helped place students with special needs in programs that support their learning and emotional needs. He enjoys engaging with kids on their level and values building a trusting working relationship with them. Ben has been involved with men's work individually and in groups and has a vision to offer that experience to more men and guide them to embrace themselves with compassion and courage. Lauren works with children through young adults, supporting individuals navigating emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, adjustment challenges, and trauma. She has spent several years working in schools and teaching English abroad, which has shaped her ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and developmental stages. Lauren has also led small groups with teen girls navigating the challenges of junior high and high school and is passionate about building trust, safety, and connection in relationships. In counseling, Lauren works alongside clients to cultivate a safe and supportive space where they feel heard, valued, and cared for through the many seasons of life. She views the counseling relationship as a collaborative, nonjudgmental partnership—one where experiences are honored and no one has to navigate life alone.
